Assign Musical Mimes - one minute minimum, set to instrumental music. Today I demonstrated an example of a musical mime. Students are to prepare their own mimes set to music. This should be an ordinary activity that uses instrumental music [please no lyrics] as the background. This is not a lip sync, nor is it a dance. The mime should not be something that is typically done to music [e.g. exercising, etc.].Due Monday, 9/24 with outline. Warm Up - Paper Toss. Finish Object Mimes. Freeze improvisation game.

Today I demonstrated an example of a musical mime. Students are to prepare their own mimes set to music. This should be an ordinary activity that uses instrumental music [please no lyrics] as the background. This is not a lip synch, nor is it a dance. The mime should not be something that is typically done to music [e.g. exercising, etc.]. Musical mimes are due Monday along with the outline. We continued object mimes.

Today we discussed pantomime and Marcel Marceau and watched two Toma the Mime clips. Students are assigned their own mimes which will begin next Wednesday. Complete the outline and hand in before performing. After a quick warm up we continued students' stories/jokes - only three more to go on Monday. Assign Musical Mimes - one minute minimum, set to instrumental music. Today I demonstrated an example of a musical mime. Students are to prepare their own mimes set to music. This should be an ordinary activity that uses instrumental music [please no lyrics] as the background. This is not a lip sync, nor is it a dance. The mime should not be something that is typically done to music [e.g. exercising, etc.].Due Monday, 9/24 with outline. Warm Up - Paper Toss. Finish Object Mimes. Freeze improvisation game.

Today I demonstrated an example of a musical mime. Students are to prepare their own mimes set to music. This should be an ordinary activity that uses instrumental music [please no lyrics] as the background. This is not a lip synch, nor is it a dance. The mime should not be something that is typically done to music [e.g. exercising, etc.]. Musical mimes are due Monday along with the outline. We continued object mimes.

Students were assigned the "object" mime - where they must mime using an object for part one and then reenact someone else's mime for part two. After a book talk and a quick warm up, we played an improv miming game called toss/catch and then the class continued mimes. Next we picked the order for mimes, reviewed theatre etiquette dos and don'ts and the headed to the auditorium for warm ups and to finish "What did you say?" Finally, we transitioned to performing the mimes. The mimes will take a few class periods to complete.

Today we discussed pantomime and Marcel Marceau and watched two Toma the Mime clips. Students are assigned their own mimes which will begin next Wednesday. Complete the outline and hand in before performing. After a quick warm up we continued students' stories/jokes - only three more to go on Monday. Students are reminded to study the stage diagram and terms. Quiz next Tuesday. Watch for announcements next week regarding the first Drama Club meeting of the year.
